The festival is a completely student-run festival with no ties to any agency whatsoever.
Frames receive entries of films from across India and even the world. Over 80 colleges participate in Frames and their entries are judged by members of India’s Film Industry. This year, Frames has tied up with the Lakecity International Short Film Festival and has received a package of 90 films from them. “This tie up is in a way to promote the film makers on a consolidating platform and help them reach out to various others festivals through LISFF,” says Mohan Das, Festival Director, LISFF 2014. “Similar way, we have also given a consortium of films to Aahan International Film Festival 2014, Darbhanga International Film Festival, and ofcourse SIES Frames Film Festival. Last year, we sent a package of films to Cortokino Short Film Festival conducted by Thakur College, Kandivili, Mumbai.”
In the past Frames, eminent film personalities including Anurag Kashyap, Madhur Bhandarkar, Vikramaditya Motwane, Ram Gopal Verma, Mahesh Bhatt, Vaishali Samant, Prachi Desai, etc. have attended the events to judge them.
