Over the last three years, Hungama.com has tied up with the
event to help the musical concert reach newer audiences both in India and
overseas. The event, featuring Ghazal stalwarts, has been an instant hit in the
digital space, which encouraged the organisers and Hungama.com to increase the
digital platforms for its distribution.
Speaking on the association, Pankaj Udhas said, “It gives us
great pleasure to be associated with Hungama for the Khazana concert. Hungama
has been our pillar of support for Khazana over the years. It is through their
digital platforms that the concert gets a wider reach and reaches out to music
lovers across the globe.”
He further added, “The live streaming of the concert
enhances the reach of our initiative and helps us reach out to international
audience too. The impact of digital media is so huge, that last year we had
requests from people from US and UK while the concert was streaming on Hungama
.”
Commenting on the collaboration, Neeraj Roy, Managing
Director & CEO, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, said, “It gives us
immense pleasure to be associated with Pankajji and the wonderful initiative he
undertook several years ago. Today, Khazana is an established global event
celebrating Ghazals, catering to a world audience. We have long believed that
Indian consumers like to not only listen to music but also watch music. Now
with increased broadband penetration, people have the option of viewing their
music, and we at Hungama.com will continue to seek differentiated original
content like ‘Khazana’ to live-stream to subscribers. I am sure fans of ghazals
and music will enjoy Khazana as well as the other upcoming initiatives from
Hungama.com.”
Last month, Hungama.com has launched the PRO version of its
mobile app, which featured several industry firsts including viewing music
videos as well as a caching feature for offline music playback. A pioneer in
the digital music industry, Hungama.com has over the last decade been
instrumental in several innovations in the space.
