The 5th Jagran Film Festival, the only travelling film
festival in India which kick-started in Delhi on 5th July, 2014 is now
scheduled to travel to Kanpur on 18th July, 2014. Keeping the promise to take
cinema across 16 cities, the festival will unveil its collection in Kanpur at
Inox, Z Square Mall from 18th July, 2014 to 20th July, 2014.
The opening film at 5th Jagran Film Festival, Kanpur is
Shahid. Director Hansal Mehta and Actor RajKumar Rao will inaugurate the
festival and mark the beginning of 5th Jagran Film Festival in Kanpur. The
movies to be screened at the festival are Hawa Hawai by director Amol Gupte,
Block 21 directed by Kyriacos Tofarides (Greek), Netaji Subash Chandra Bose
directed by Shyam Benegal, Ankhon Dekhi by director Rajat Kapoor, Madhumati
directed by Bimal Roy and Manjunath directed by Sandeep Verma.
During the three days apart from showcasing Indian and
International cinema, an integral part of the festival is the Master Class. The
master class sessions are where directors take you through the journey of film
making and the art of making cinema. The
1st panel discussion on Biopic Cinema is on 20th July, 2014 at 2.00 pm and the
second discussion is on From Small Towns To Big Towns: What does it take to be
an actor at 4.00 pm.
The Jagran Film Festival is unique in its way of
organization. The festival begins in New Delhi and then travels to 14 other
cities of India before reaching Mumbai, where the grand finale takes place with
almost a week of screenings of all the sections and the awards ceremony. It’s
the longest running film festival of the country, covering almost three months
and crisscrossing across seven states of India.
