Delhiites will be roaring at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex
tonight as Dabang Delhi plays their last match on home ground against Bengal
Warriors. This is the second match the team will play against Bengal Warriors
and they are well prepared after their first match in Netaji Indoor Stadium,
Kolkata.
Bengal Warriors had a very close win in the former game
where they had to hold their nerves in the closing minutes to the most
important part with Dabang Delhi by two minutes to score. Bengal Warriors had
the upper hand leading 28-14 at the half-time but the Delhi team made a
spectacular comeback through Kashiling Adake (10 raid points) and Surjeet
Narwal (8) as they made it 38-38 in 36 minutes. Bengal Warriors however made it
count as they held Adake in the dying minutes to almost tilt the match in
Bengal’s favour before they coasted to a 42-40 win.
Tonight’s game will be a lot different with Delhi’s
boisterous crowd cheering for Dabang Delhi. The team has changed its game plan
and has made some amendments in their strategies too.
Coach Arjun Singh is positive about the team’s performance
in their upcoming match against the Bengal Warriors. Both the teams are charged
up for the game that promises to be high on the thrill factor and amazing
crowd.
Speaking ahead of the match, team owner, Ms Radha Kapoor
said, “It’s been a testing last three days with our team kneeling with injuries
and Surjeet fighting a viral fever, however with the inclusion of two
replacements in Rakesh Kumar (all rounder) and Ravinder Singh (defender), our
team is confident to leave Delhi on a winning note.”
The team’s upcoming matches after tonight’s Delhi match will
be in Patna, Vizag and Jaipur and two matches each in Pune and Bangalore. Since
it’s the last match in Delhi, the capital is anxiously waiting to witness their
team play tonight.
