In a stunning turn of events, Dabang Delhi thrashed visitors
Bengal Warriors 46-36, much to the exhilaration of Delhi’s roaring audience at
Thyagraj Stadium in Delhi. With this match, Dabang Delhi sailed four positions
up to secure the 4th spot on team standings of Pro Kabaddi League.
While Adake stole hearts with his daring raids, Surjeet
Narwal and Ravinder Singh assisted in decimating Bengal Warriors to secure two
all outs and bring Dabang Delhi up to a healthy 27-11 lead at the end of first
half. Despite acceding two all outs towards the end of an exciting game, Dabang
Delhi had already scored their third all out in the second half when Dabang
Delhi’s defense piled onto Bengal Warrior’s star raider Jang Kun Lee during his
second do-or-die attempt. With this, Dabang Delhi cruised into a comfortable
34-12 which eventually swelled into a whopping 46-36 victory at the end of last
night’s game. To the delight of Delhiites Dabang Delhi came good to
expectations.
Dabang Delhi Coach Arjun Singh believes his team gained from
previous defeat at hands of Bengal Warriors. “The previous match against Bengal
Warriors helped us pick up on their style and execute a stronger game plan this
time. This victory has boosted the team’s morale, and we will only get better,”
said the proud coach.
The Delhi franchise owner Radha Kapoor exuded confidence on
the team’s performance for the remainder of the tournament saying, “our team
has the potential to take the competition to the finish line. The win against Bengal
will go a long way in reassuring the players of their abilities.”
Dabang Delhi will take on Patna Pirates in Patna at
Patliputra Stadium on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Dabang Delhi was given a
standing ovation at the end of their previous match versus Patna despite being
defeated 36-31. The team is all geared up to play their second match against
