Hollywood films have garnered massive fan following among Indian
audiences today. The ‘ROCK’ Dwayne Johnson’s action packed film ‘Hercules’
stand as a testimony to this fact. The film is running successfully across
theatres in India since its release on 1st August 2014. The Indian audience is
in love with the handsome actor who plays a triple role of the mighty Zeus, the
heroic Achilles and the fearless demigod Hercules in the Greek saga.
Subsequently, Hercules has hit the bull’s-eye at the Box Office in India by
earning a massive 21.49 Cr gross in its opening weekend. The film has also
earned the spot for the biggest opening weekend for a Hollywood film of 2014
easily beating films like 300: The rise of an Empire, Dawn of the Planet of the
Apes, Godzilla 3D and Captain America: The Winter Soldier that also released
early this year. The Indian fans have welcomed the film with open arms giving
it a stupendous first weekend in the country.
The epic saga transports the viewer to an alternative
universe where god and magic come real. It comes through on its promise to take
the audience on a journey filed with mythical creatures, breath taking
locations and an outstanding cinematic experience. The film is a brilliant
amalgamation of superb narration, larger than life VFX scenes and strong characterisations.
Transformers: The Age of Extinction that released last month
and Hercules are both presented by Paramount Pictures India placing them at the
2nd and 4th position in the list of biggest Hollywood films of 2014 with its
record breaking earnings. Their next stop this year will be the action packed
film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles starring the gorgeous Megan Fox. The film is
slated for release on the 29th of August, an auspicious day when Indians welcome
the God of good luck, their favourite Lord Ganesha.
The movie is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The
Thracian Wars. Produced by Paramount Pictures and MGM, the movie is directed by
Brett Ratner. The film also stars Ian McShane, Reece Ritchie, Ingrid Bolso
Berdal, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. The film has been released in India by
Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
