Art films are boring and for
selective audience - The Viral Fever (TVF) busts this myth by taking a dig at
the popular art film maker Anurag Kashyap in a new viral video ‘An Indian
Art-house film’. The video is a parody on the arthouse film-making process in
India and tickles your funny bone.
The video has started creating buzz
on social media and has generated many a laugh riots already. Making fun of
everything from method actors, lucid vocabulary, challenging roles like alcohol
and drug addicts or deaf/dumb/blind central characters to money issues, the
video makes fun of the entire art film-making process and even film makers like
Anurag Kashyap. The idea conveyed in the video is that contrary to the popular
belief, an Art film can actually entertain the masses too. Kashyap’s Gangs of
Wasseypur was a hit among the audience despite coming from Anurag’s bag of art
films and we see similar elements in his next: UGLY! The trailer of the movie
hints at an intriguing plot along with a few comic moments like “actors use
different names for professional use and for home”, says an actor in the movie
to the police in a mild interrogation when he reveals his 2 names and pat comes
the reply from the inspector, “Toh Amitabh Bachchan ka ghar ka naam kya hai?”,
causing everyone in the room to burst into laughter.
Anurag Kashyap has to be a sport
to feature in the video distorting the art of making an Indian Arthouse film
and ridiculing sex, violence and smoking in movies for affecting Indian
culture! Despite being known as an Art film maker, he doesn't believe in
separating art from entertainment. Also playing a part in the video are
Vikramaditya Motwane and Ronit Roy, who is also seen as a mighty police officer
in the movie UGLY. The Background score of the trailer grows on you and it is a
must watch how an art films’ comparison is drawn in the video!
