Phiroz Patel had to be hospitalized after he suffered from severe concussions
on the sets of Ek Boond Ishq.
Viraf Phiroz Patel who has lately become a household name as the enigmatic Mrityunjay thanks to one of Life OK’s most succesful shows, Ek Boond Ishq (2013~14) is also enjoying huge popularity as the ideal man Shiv, amongst the cult following for the show, Mahi Way, (2010) Yash Raj film’s most watched TV venture, Viraf’s unusual portrayal of both these strong, emotionally potent characters has garnered him the reputation of being amongst the craftiest on the tube currently.

He is known not just for the diversity of roles he lands, but even the versatality of his portrayal; be it as Shiv-the Mr. Perfect man in Mahi Way, the suave businessman Adityaraj Merchant in the epic saga ‘Kismat’(2011) or the romantic but busy husband ‘Shreshth’ in the Tele film series Teri Meri Love Stories for Star plus or the currently on air, intruiging Mrityunjay from Ek Boond Ishq.
It is learned that despite years
of being toughened up, the long shoot schedules and the recent news of the show
going off air pushed him to the brink. Yesterday, while shooting Viraf suddenly
blacked out after concussions. When the situation worsened the crew of Ek Boond
Ishq quickly rushed him to the hospital and ensured he was tended to.
Viraf has always had a special
corner for Ek Boond Ishq as it’s his first daily soap. With the news of the
show coming to an end Viraf is leaving no stone unturned and ensuring that he
gives his best. This perfectionist in him proved
costly as it has taken a severe toll on his health.
Few may be aware that Viraf was born and brought up in a Parsi family in Pune and actually started off his professional career as a sailor in the Merchant Navy. After 5 years of sailing, in 2005 he participated in Grasim Mr. India and went on to win the title. Since then, Viraf’s love for the camera has only grown.

he is today, Viraf as a model, has been associated with ad campaigns, ramp shows
& music videos. The advertising industry knows him as the Limca guy thanks
to his 2010 Limca Doobo Taazgi main campaign with Hrishita Bhatt. He has also
been the face of the country’s largest garment retail brand Pantaloons. On the
ramp, he has walked for the most sought after designers for India Fashion Week,
Lakme Fashion Week and the likes. He even found his sweet space on the English
theatre scene through Vikram kapadia’s play, Bombay Talkies (2012).
On the personal front, this
Gemini has a penchant for cooking that friends and family swear by. Viraf’s a passionate
photographer and being behind the camera excites him just as much as facing it.
When he isn’t shooting Viraf is often found prancing around his set, shooting
and editing his own short films.
Effortless charisma, an endearing
