Becomes the #1 theatre in terms of nett collection over the 1st weekend for Avengers: Age of Ultron
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron
has netted Rs 35.74 crore in its opening weekend, becoming the second-highest
collection at the Indian box office this year.
Cinepolis Viviana, the second biggest megaplex by Cinepolis in India
with 14 screens has reported a contribution of more than 1% total nett
collections in the opening weekend.
Cinepolis observes that the movie in 4DX has been well received by the
audience with the occupancy reaching around 95%+ during the weekend.
Mr. Devang Sampat, Business Head-
Strategy, said “Hollywood has seen tremendous growth in India and we have seen
franchise movies get excellent openings, but this year with Fast & Furious
7 and Avengers: Age of Ultron has been exceptional. We were amazed to witness a great response at
Viviana over the weekend, when it netted the highest collection for a single
cinema in India. Its censor U/A made it available for family to bring Children
which we consider one big advantage for a great response.
All eyes are now on the lifetime
collection that Avengers will make in India and whether it will be able beat
F7’s record in the country. Cinepolis is expecting the movie to set new benchmark
in footfalls and net collections in India.
