The fashion awards organized by JD Institute of Fashion
Technology celebrated the culture and spirit of fashion in a two-day Fashion
Carnival-JD Annual Design Awards 2016. The Fashion Awards is the new face of JD
Annual Design Awards which takes place annually. The event was held at
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi from 10th July-11th July, 2016.
Day 2 of The Fashion Awards was led by veteran designers
like Anju Modi,Rohit Bal , who proved their creative spirit in praiseworthy
collections .
Anju Modi was also awarded as the best costume designer for
her outstanding work in the movie Bajirao Mastani.
The other awards included the most inspirational Fashion
Designer which was given to Meera and
Mujhafar Ali ,Rohit Bal ,as an acknowledgement for promoting Indian fashion
world wide,in the space Design – award was given to eminent designer Mr.Manjeet
Bullar and Wall Street art promoter Mr.Hanif Kureshi.
From Baseball Jacket to tuxedo to elegant women wear,
collection of both Men and Women’s wear was on full display as Delhi celebrated
the culture and spirit of Fashion in a two-day Fashion Carnival-JD Annual
Design Awards 2016 organized by JD Institute of Fashion Technology.
While receiving the award,Ms.Modi,said,”I just came to know
that 80 collections were presented in just these two days and this figure has a
long lasting remembrance in my life
because I designed 80
nauvari saris for Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani.Though the project has drawn to
an end, but I firmly believe that the fever of periodic fashion is going to
last longer than a runway season. After seeing these collections, the next Gen
designers will soon rock the world and I wish all of them all the best.”
The fashion carnival unveiled every aspect of fashion across
people. The fashion carnival had a display of exhibitions-Interior, Jewellery
and Fashion. All the displays and the creativity were done by the students of
JD Institute of Fashion technology.
While the day showcased the working arts, the evening took
viewers to a nostalgic journey through the Fashion Show with live performances
by models as they walked the ramp showcasing the collection designed by the
students.
This two day festival of creativity showcased the creations
designed by the students of fashion, interior and jewellery designing
departments on the theme ‘THE UNTOLD STORY’ highlighting the first thought that
comes in the mind and follow that first thought fearlessly and curiously.
Mr. RC Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion
Technology, said “The Fashion Awards is a platform which provides students
unlimited opportunities to stretch their creativity to the maximum and enhance
their potential. It’s an opportunity for the students to work with leading designers and be seen
and recruited by leading brands in India and abroad.An example of this is an
alumnus of the institute Rocky.S. I am elated to see serious potential and
responsibility among my student designers. In all, this will bring in new set
of ‘Next Gen Young Designers”.
The Institute sets a new benchmark in innovative teaching
methodologies for its students and giving them the best learning experience.
The institute was established by Mr. Chandrakant Dalal with an intention to
enhance the student’s worthiness and imbibe the nobler values of life in their
receptive minds. It is now headed by Mr. RC Dalal who has always had a
progressive outlook and has cultivated a symbiotic relationship with the
National and International design fraternity.
