TV host
Tanvi Shah, hosted a festive showcase for premium lifestyle brand, Shades of
India at its newly launched Mumbai store. The lovely event was attended by
celebrities such as Mandira Bedi, Diwa Dhawan, Gabriella Demetriades and Smriti
Khanna and showcased the brand’s bold festive collection, dedicated to
empowered women titled Jugni –Portraits of Love.
With
five colour stories in shades of red, green, olive, purple and natural, it
speaks to women who glow with their inner strength and passion for life. They
are women who have empowered themselves through the myriad transitions of time
and experience to discover the infinite possibilities of happiness.
As a
festive collection, Jugni draws inspiration from an heirloom kurta embroidered
with gota work - an exquisite technique of metallic based ribbon used on
celebratory occasions, such as new beginnings, marriages or the birth of a
child. Like a firefly in flight, the golden copper thread shines with twists
and turns on exquisite silks, woven tissue and luxurious velvets.
Mandeep
Nagi, Design Director, Shades of India says, “Jugni - Portraits of Love - is
dedicated to women who have the charisma that comes from confidence in
themselves, who draw power from within, the ones who can flaunt the wildness of
their hair or to those who choose glamour in streaks of grey. It is dedicated
to women not afraid to reinvent themselves. Through this collection we pay tribute
to the muses who inspire us and portray them as works of art.”
