Adipurush's release is around the corner and Prabhas' fans are waiting
with bated breath to watch his latest offering, in theatres on June 16, 2023. However,
with every passing day, the movie is trending on Twitter for various reasons. Days
ahead of the film's grand release, news reports are trickling in saying that
the mythological movie would not be released on IMAX screens, as they are
already occupied by the Hollywood film ‘The Flash’. This has left fans angry
and some of them slammed the production house, T-Series, for not planning the
release properly. The film is directed by Om Raut and is based on Valmiki's
Ramayana.
According to the reports, all the IMAX screens have been allotted to
DC's The Flash. Film trade analyst Girish Johar tweeted that the Adipurush
release has been cancelled in IMAX format. It read, "Warner had secured
this date much earlier, and multiple changes in the release date of #Adipurush
further weakened their stand. Also, @Imax, as a rule, does not release 2 films
on the same date!"
This tweet absolutely upset the fans of Prabhas and Ramayan. The
internet community was quite furious, and they lashed out at the makers for not
planning things properly. Some even pointed out that the film needs to be
released again in mid-July, as the purpose of the film is to deliver the best
visual presentation of the Ramayana. A person wrote, "This shouldn't
happen #Adipurush #Prabhas should get equal chance in imax atleast in his home ground india not in usa
#TheFlashMovie is a big movie but #Adipurush is the biggest budget of the year
giving it a fair chance is required."
Adipurush is an adaptation of the epic Ramayana. Apart from Baahubali
star Prabhas, the film features Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh or Raavana, and Kriti
Sanon as Sita. The film was shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad and is bankrolled by
Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, under the T-series banner.
