Treating fans to a gift on the occasion Thalapathy Vijay’s 49th
birthday, the poster of his upcoming pan-India film Leo under the direction of
Lokesh Kanagaraj was released today. Sharing the poster, Vijay simply wrote, #LeoFirstLook. With fans of the actor flooding social media with celebratory
messages, in no time Leo’s first look poster shatterred records as it received
1,00,000 likes on Twitter in just 12 minutes.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, if the first look poster of Leo is
anything to go by, it appears that Vijay is not unafraid of unleashing his
violent side in the much-awaited movie. In the poster, Vijay is seen wielding a
bloody sledgehammer with an angry expression on his face. Seen alongside him is
an equally ferocious hyena. Also, do not miss the snow-capped mountains in the
background This may not come as a surprise for most fans as the film is
reportedly set in Kashmir.
While the first look went viral, netizens were however quick enough to compare the poster with HBO series Game of Thrones. While in the 'Leo' poster, Vijay is featured holding a sledgehammer accompanied by a wolf against a snow background, the Game of Thrones poster has Jon Snow is featured holding a sword in his hand and a wolf behind against a snow background. Whether just the poster or the story or scenes are similar, only time will tell.
Leo has been produced by SS Lalit Kumar from Seven Screen Studio and
co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy, Leo stars Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt,
Arjun, Priya Anand, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mysskin among others. with cinematography
by Manoj Paramahamsa, editing by Philomin Raj, and music by Anirudh Ravichander,
Leo is set to release in theatres on October 19.
