The excitement of the fans of Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 - the biggest
blockbuster sequel of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is on an all-time high since the
teaser of the film has been launched. While fans were all eager to experience
the magic of the iconic love story once again on the silver screen, Ameesha
Patel dropped a spoiler on Instagram that Sakina (her character) is not dead. However,
the reprised version of Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava has taken the social media by storm
and intrigued the fans, they are eagerly waiting for the Independence Day celebrations
with Gadar 2.
To build up the excitement, the makers of the film have announced that
veteran actor Nana Patekar has lent his voice to Gadar 2. He has stepped into
the shoes of Om Puri and will be giving the introduction of Gadar 2 to the
moviegoers at the very start of the film. For the unversed, Om Puri had done
the voiceover for the introductory scenes of Gadar in 2001. This news has been
shared exclusively in a twitter post by film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh
where it mentions:
#Xclusiv… NANA PATEKAR DOES VOICEOVER FOR ‘GADAR 2’… #NanaPatekar has
lent his voice for #Gadar2… #Nana’s voiceover will introduce #Gadar2 to the
moviegoers at the very start of the film.
It may be recalled that #OmPuri had done the voiceover for the
introductory scenes of #Gadar [first part], way back in 2001.
One of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema Gadar: Ek Prem Katha
was an iconic love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena during the partition era.
With the sequel, the makers are taking a 24-year leap, as the story unfolds
against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. While Tara Singh goes to
Pakistan to get Sakeena back in Gadar, this time around, he will be crossing
borders in the midst of a war to save his son, Jeete. No wonder, the emotional
crust of Gadar 2 will be as intense as Gadar 1 quantifying the bond of father
and son.
Helmed by Director-Producer Anil Sharma, and produced by Zee Studios, Gadar
2: The Katha Continues stars Superstar Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh
Sharma in lead roles. Scheduled to release in India on 11th August 2023, the
teaser of the film was released on 12th June 2023, coinciding with the 22nd
anniversary of Gadar Ek Prem Katha. Gadar Ek Prem Katha was re-released in
cinemas, on 9th June 2023 and is also available on rent on Zee5 in 4K version
for a limited time.
