Believed to be a dream project for Dulquer Salmaan, the trailer of King
of Kotha starring Dulquer Salmaan has been dropped across all languages. The
actor, known for his chocolate boy persona in the films, is all set to break
his image with his upcoming projects. While Shah Rukh Khan released the Hindi trailer,
actor Suriya Sivakumar unveiled the trailer in Tamil.
A Malayalam period drama directed by debutant filmmaker Abhilash Joshiy
and backed by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios, the film also features Aishwarya
Lekshmi, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Nyla Usha and Chemban
Vinod Jose in prominent roles. The trailer that was released by Shah Rukh Khan
(Hindi), Mohanlal (Malayalam), Suriya (Tamil) and Nagarjuna (Telugu) has left
the stars and everyone impressed as they unveiled the trailer of the film.
Shah Rukh Khan who released the trailer in Hindi tweeted sent a big hug to Dulquer. “Congratulations on the impressive ‘King of Kotha’ Trailer, Dulqueer Salmaan! Looking forward to the movie. Big hug to you and wishing the entire team a big success!" SRK tweeted. Responding to SRK’s tweet Dulquer wrote, “Thank you so so so much Shahrukh Sir! This is such a huge moment for me! Fanboy forever." Actor Suriya Sivakumar, who unveiled the trailer in Tamil, tweeted: “This looks like a bloody good blast! Presenting the King of Kotha Trailer Dear brother Dulquer Salmaan. All the very best to you and the team!”
Looking at the trailer, it seems that the team has managed to add a
pinch of action, romance and suspense to make it a potential mass entertainer
film. The Dulquer Salmaan-starrer gangster drama is full of high-octane action
sequences and power-packed stunts by the actor, which just proves how much he
has pushed his boundaries.
Releasing on August 24 in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada coinciding
with the Onam festival, 'King of Kotha' weaves a gripping narrative in a world where
loyalty can be a perilous gamble and the race for the throne is an unrelenting endeavour.
Dulquer Salmaan shines in the lead role, where he is seen portraying a
character who struggles with addiction to alcohol, yet he receives all the
respect in his locality for his good deeds. KOK is about the drug trade in
Kotha, where Dulquer’s character named Raju is seen at loggerheads with rival
gang members portraying a formidable contender in the high-stakes pursuit of
supremacy. With stunning visuals and heart-stopping action sequences, the action-packed
film also includes a romantic subplot between Dulquer and Aishwarya.
